What it shows

Measured weather and air quality at ground stations, from the last hour. The official German SYNOP network of the Deutscher Wetterdienst sits alongside about ten thousand Sensor.Community citizen sensors. Colour shows fine particles (PM2.5) or air temperature; select a dot for its latest reading and the time it was taken.

Where the data comes from

Deutscher Wetterdienst open data SYNOP bulletins (CC BY 4.0) and Sensor.Community 5-minute means (ODbL 1.0), rebuilt on our server every 10 minutes. Readings older than 3 hours are not shown.

Reading the map

PM2.5 runs from green (under 10 µg/m³) through yellow (25) and orange (50) to red (75) and purple (150 and above). Temperature runs from violet (-20 °C) through blue and green to red (40 °C). Ringed dots are official stations; small dots are uncalibrated citizen sensors.

Units PM2.5 and PM10 in µg/m³; temperature in °C; humidity in %; wind in km/h; pressure in hPa at sea level.
