Air temperature 2 m above the ground, drawn as a continuous field over the view. The colour scale is fixed, so the same temperature always has the same colour whatever the zoom. The readout also gives the apparent ("feels like") temperature. A chip switches to the levels aloft: 850, 700, 500 and 300 hPa (about 1.5, 3, 5.5 and 9 km).
Where the data comes from
NOAA GFS 0.25° global model (public domain), baked on our server every hour into a 2° grid from 24 h ago to 48 h ahead; values between grid points are interpolated.
